New Team at The River Lodge
The River Lodge is under new ownership and management, resulting in the addition of a wide range of skills and experience to the operation.
George Campbell has 30 years experience in corporate management, while his wife Fran Campbell, an enthusiastic 'foodie' has managed her own cafe for several years. Their son, Sean Campbell has been an adventure guide in Waitomo and in Turkey. He has also been a pub manager in England and more recently, a senior account manager. His partner Maria Cuttance has a background in graphic design, marketing and hospitality.
While bringing new enthusiasm and vigour to the lodge, the family team also intends to retain the essence of its operation - particularly its appeal as a venue offering exclusive use of it's facilities and spacious grounds to groups of 15 or more.
As before, many activities are available at The River Lodge. They include NZ Riverjet, raft building and racing, human sheep dog trials, giant rubik cube and more.
The lodge has 19 spacious rooms available for single, double or twin occupancy, plus a conference room with seating for up to 50 delegates and a self contained conference office. Other features include a private house bar, dining and entertainment areas and a large open fire. Emphasis is placed on quality dining and service, and an array of experiences from a five course menu to a casual barbecue can be selected by conference organisers.
